LeAnn Rimes certainly has an over-abundance of delusion and crazy. It seems her husband Eddie Cibrian likes ’em that way! But now LeAnn is sharing all about her tumultuous love with Eddie, how one recovers from breaking up a marriage but still maintaining her love, having babies!
The LeAnn & Eddie star describes her life as “one big country music song” amid cheating, crazy ex-wives, tabloid drama, and twitter dramas. Through all the chaos and negativity, LeAnn is grateful for her life and especially her marriage to Eddie – even if they are constantly scrutinized by the public which they made a reality show about and stalked by the paparazzi they hire to try and make them relevant.
“My life has been one big country song,” LeAnn describes. “I’ve gone through every emotion, especially in the situation with Eddie – I’ve felt pain and suffering and sadness and the most incredible love, all at the same time. I was meant to be with Eddie. … Divorce is not an option for us.”

LeAnn says Eddie is her “soul mate” and says their wedding was an intimate celebration of survival! “We had chalkboards for guests to write messages on and I wrote, “Thank God we lived through this.” We fought so hard to be together; there’s a bond between us that I think most people don’t have.” If by fought to be together, LeAnn means stealing another woman’s husband – even if that woman is Brandi Glanville – then uhhhh… LeAnn needs to gain some interpersonal intelligence.
Oh wait – LeAnn is in therapy, but it doesn’t appear to be working. Just like twitter rehab did not work! “I love therapy. If you find the right therapist it’s fantastic. It’s about gaining tools to be a better person. Just by having a place to sift through things, you somehow find the answers within you. It is important to feel stuff. I think it’s sad that our society wants to be numb and not feel things.” So, does this mean LeAnn has realized that TWEETING is not a substitute for professional help?
LeAnn turned to therapy to deal with the aftermath of following her heart. She was seriously depressed, although in the end she feels it was all worth it “Fans felt as though I was their daughter or sister making a big mistake when we got together, because they’ve grown up with me. But we both acted from our hearts and that’s impossible to turn around. Trust me, we both tried. Look, I’ve said ‘I’m sorry’ and made amends,” she tells The Daily Mail.
“People thought I had an eating disorder or was addicted to something. Not at all. I went into treatment for anxiety and depression. I had just turned 30 and I realised I couldn’t live like that any more,” LeAnn admits. “There were very dark moments.”
LeAnn helped channel her depression through her music. “My album Spitfire was very cathartic. It dug into every insecurity and every bit of sadness and blame; the guilt I was going through. ‘Borrowed’ was a really intense song to write, because I was talking honestly about the shame I felt, the lowest of lows. It was also my tongue-in-cheek humour, [a nod to] the cheating songs and the drinking songs. Every country song has cheating in it!”
One reason LeAnn feels it’s so important to have a stable marriage and work on herself is the love she feels for Eddie’s two sons. Playing ‘Bonus Mom’ is one of the most important roles in LeAnn’s life. But LeAnn also knows what it’s life to grow-up fast and have the weight on your shoulders when you’re only a child.
“Success wasn’t all fun and games. It was amazing – and it was exhausting. It was hard to have the pressure of thinking: ‘I have a temperature of 104 and I’m vomiting and I still have to go on stage. If I have to cancel, who am I disappointing?’ I was such a little warrior,” LeAnn reflects.
LeAnn compares that to her step-sons’ lives. “Even though I was on the road a lot, the teachers would give me homework and I would get it all done. I look at my 11-year-old stepson Mason, and I’m like, ‘I signed a record deal when I was your age. You’re still fumbling with tying your shoelaces’.”
Interjection: I don’t think LeAnn is shaming Mason – I truly do believe she loves those boys as if they are her own and has a good relationship with them. LeAnn never thinks about CONTEXT! Of course the media is going to have a field day ripping her to shreds over this! LeAnn says just that – her quote was misrepresented.
I’m just glad Brandi hasn’t commented – she did tweet: “People need to calm the f–k down! #mondayaggression,” I have no idea if that’s related to LeAnn’s comment, however.
Attributing her work ethic to her father, LeAnn says they now have a great relationship. “I have a great reputation in this business because of that. Most people don’t come back from things like my dad and I went through [the court case],” she reveals. “We didn’t speak for three and a half years. But now we are close. Eddie and I take his kids to visit my dad in Nashville.”
LeAnn also reveals that she is ready to have babies because being with Eddie’s sons has made her realize she can be a good mother and maintain her career. “I would love to have a kid with Eddie – I hope it has his dimples! I’ve taken care of people my whole life, so for a long time the thought of having a child seemed exhausting, but I don’t feel that way any more,” LeAnn says.
“I’ve been working my whole life on the road, and I do wonder, ‘How will I juggle that with a baby? What will have to change? Everything!’ But I don’t want to wait too long. Having Eddie’s kids around has stirred something in me,” LeAnn admits. Unfortunately infertility runs in her family and her mother tried for 12 years to get pregnant before having LeAnn who is her “miracle baby.”
Above all LeAnn says she now has a new motto in life: “It’s a Dr Seuss saying: ‘Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.’ It reminds me to stay positive.”
