BEST NEW REALITY SHOWS OF 2012!
Breaking Amish was a big hit for TLC and emerged as the highest rated new show on the network, with an average viewership of 3.2M. Some criticized the authenticity of the series because many of the show's cast had lived outside the Amish and Mennonite communities for years. The network argued that the trials and tribulations of adjusting to the modern while dealing with young adulthood still remained. Obviously viewership did not suffer.
No word yet if the new cast of Breaking Amish has previous experience outside the insular communities.
