In light of the domestic violence charges in the very brief wedding of Basketball Wives‘ stars Evelyn Lozada and Chad Ochocinco Johnson, Evelyn has cancelled all her upcoming publicity engagements. I can’t say I blame her. When the news of Chad’s abuse arrest became public, Evelyn filed for divorce, the couple’s wedding spin-off Ev & Ocho was pulled by VH1, and Chad was fired from the Dolphins. Probably not Chad’s best week, I’d say. What a d-bag.
The second half of Evelyn’s scheduled book tour to promote The Wives Association: Inner Circle has been put on hold, as well as several club public appearances. Evelyn will no longer be appearing alongside RHONJ‘s Teresa Giudice at a September book expo. Sidebar, can you imagine those two ladies together? Teresa flipping tables and Evelyn hurling bottles of Fabellini? Terrifying!

Joking aside, TMZ reports that Evelyn isn’t ready to face questions from fans about the abuse and her relationship with Chad, which is totally understandable.
The same site is alleging that Chad’s college girlfriend is attempting to reach out to Evelyn in hopes of finding closure. Chad was convicted of slapping his college sweetheart back in 2000. She has apparently been hoping to contact Evelyn via Twitter and Facebook to no avail. She believes that the two have a lot in common, and they could potentially help each other heal.
Following his conviction in 2000, Chad had to complete a treatment program for domestic violence in 2002. His certificate is below. According to the program’s status report, Chad was cooperative and worked hard, but “struggled initially with accepting the need to make lifestyle changes as well as minimizing his past behavior.” Wow, that doesn’t sound at all like Chad, does it? Entitled and arrogant? Chad? Never. Sadly, the report wasn’t totally correct, as it predicted Chad ‘s “risk to re-offend appears low.” Um, about that…
