There’s never a dull moment for Team Frankel! This past weekend a peaceful afternoon cruise turned in nightmare when the entire team was lost at sea!
While filming scenes for the new season of her Bravo reality show (which, as of yet, is unnamed), Bethenny Frankel and husband, Jason Frankel Hoppy experienced their own personal Gilligan’s Island when they were lost at sea for 20 hours and floating out into the great unknown after a GPS unit malfunctioned!
If you can’t imagine your life without Bethenny, you’re in luck, because they were found unharmed by the US Coast Guard and escorted back to shore around 4 am. “I was on a sailboat on Saturday that was supposed to be eight hours and it ended up being 20 because were lost at sea,” Bethenny tells E! in an exclusive interview related to the incident. “The captain had to call the Coast Guard and we were hit by a big wave. It was very scary. It was traumatic. Absolutely traumatic.”
The boat, which was carrying 10-people – including the Bravo film crew – strayed off course somewhere around Block Island and Nantucket. Bethenny tweeted that her made-for-TV shrink was also on board. Perhaps they were trying some immersion therapy… “We were in the middle of the deep sea with no land or anybody near us,” Bethenny reports. “The captain had never, in 30 years, called the Coast Guard.” No word yet if Skinnygirl Margaritas had anything to do with the boat straying off course!
Thankfully, Bryn was not on the trip. “I was thinking, oh, my God, Bryn! I’m not going to be there at six o’clock in the morning when she wakes up and she’s going to wonder where Mommy is and gosh, if something were to happen to me, what would happen to her. I was having horrendous thoughts,” Bethenny recalls.
BestWeekEver.TV has the activity log from the boat which features how Bethenny passed the time while stranded on the cruise from hell. Shark Piss cocktails, anyone? Only 98 calories for 4oz!
In response to their idol temporarily vanishing at sea, Bethenny’s Frankenzombies rallied around her via Twitter and the reality star and cocktail maven, happily tweeted back. An excerpt from Bethenny’s Twitter page featuring the Tweets is below.
Bethenny also posted a TwitPic of Team Frankel on the dock before their nightmare at sea. That pic is below! In other Bethenny news, she will be the subject of an E! True Hollywood Story tonight at 10pm ET.
